Foundation. The CVTO was founded in 1996 by Pauline Abbott and Susan Boddy. Since then the monthly rehearsals have seen the ensemble grow - to almost 40 members at times. Youngsters who may have no experience playing with others enjoy a great variety of orchestral arrangements. Concerts. The orchestra performs three concerts a year - one in December with a Christmas theme, a joint concert in June with the Main Orchestra, and a third in the February half-term, which is the culmination of a two-day Play for Pleasure Holiday Orchestra workshop held in Colchester. Holiday Orchestra: Application Form Press Release Standard and age. As an indication of the standard, grades 2-5 cover most members, and the age range is from about 8 years upwards.
