The Colne Valley Youth Orchestra

The Colchester-based Colne Valley Youth Orchestra (CVYO) and its junior partner, the Colne Valley Training Orchestra (CVTO), meet to rehearse once a month at Colchester Sixth Form College.

Any young musician from approximately grade 1 and age 7 can come along and try out to see if they enjoy what Colne Valley has to offer. There are no auditions - only the opportunity to come and play your instrument with others, improve your playing and make lots of new friends from schools all around the area.

As well as practising at rehearsals, we perform a wide range of concerts and get involved in lots of fantastic musical events across the year. Our new Honarary President is DAMON ALBARN who used to play in the orchestra. For older members, there is a chance to go on residential weekends and a summer concert tour abroad.

If you play an instrument and want to do more than just practise in your bedroom why not come along and join us. You'll definitely play better and you'll definitely have fun.

Last year was our 30th Anniversary and we celebrated with a Gala Concert. More details can be found at:
